Blue Buntings are specialty birds of the lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where one can usually be found somewhere each year in winter. This one was photographed in January, 1988 at a makeshift feeder in a campground along the Rio Grande River in southern Texas. Photo taken with a 300mm f4.5 Nikkor ED lens on Ektachrome 400 film pushed to 800. (Date: January 1988)
