Snow Geese breed in the high Arctic coastal regions of northern Alaska and northern Canada. They winter along the east coast of the US from Delaware to the Carolinas, central California, southern Arizona and New Mexico, and the Gulf coasts of Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. These Snow Geese were photographed coming in for a landing at Brigantine NWR, New Jersey, where they stop on their way south each fall. Photo taken with a 300mm f4.5 Nikkor ED lens on Kodachrome 200 film. (Date: December 1982)

Mallards occur throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to being the common park pond duck, they are widespread and breed throughout North America except for high arctic Canada and the southeastern US. They winter throughout the US. This pair of Mallards was photographed at Lily Lake in Cape May, New Jersey. Photo taken with a Nikkor 300mm EDAF f4.0 lens on Kodachrome 200 film. (Date: November 1979)
