Golden-crowned Sparrows breed in Alaska and western Canada, and spend winter along the west coast of the United States. When this one showed up in west central Texas at the Robert Lee Christmas Bird Count, Robert Lee, TX, it was quite unexpected. This bird is the 29th record of Golden-crowned Sparrow for Texas.
