Wilson's Warblers breed across much of Canada, Alaska, and the mountains and foothills of the western US. They are common in wet woodlands and thickets along streams. The male is distinctive with his crisp black cap, olive drab back with no wingbars, and bright yellow underparts. Females are similar in color, but either lack the sharply defined cap or just have a dusky cap. This male Wilson's Warbler was photographed in the foothills outside Anchorage, Alaska.
