[Dendroica petechia] Yellow Warblers breed throughout Canada, Alaska, and all of the lower 48 United States except Texas and along the Gulf Coast states. They are the only birds which appear all yellow at first glance. The male and female are similar with yellow heads and underparts, and olive drab backs. The male is brighter overall and has reddish streaks on the breast. Yellow Warblers are very curious and will often approach quite closely to investigate.
