Spring 2009 images from Colombia:

My wife and I spent the first two weeks of June, 2009 on a mission trip to Colombia for the Presbyterian Church USA. A few hours of free time in the big cities and several days at the ProAves El Dorado Reserve in the Santa Marta Mountains provided an introduction to birds of the tropics, including several Santa Marta endemics.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Most of the insects were butterflies and moths which were attracted to the lights shining through the windows of the lodge during the night. I'm using generic names for them below, and not worrying about assigning correct names at this time. Any comments on the ID of any of these critters will be much appreciated. Thanks.
