Prairie Warbler

Prairie Warblers breed throughout much of the eastern US. They are found along woodland edges, overgrown fields, and mangrove swamps. The combination of olive drab back with dull wingbars, bright yellow underparts, and heavy streaking on the sides give them a beautifully distinct plumage. Their song, a series of buzzy notes that sounds like someone running their finger over the teeth of a comb, is easily learned. Prothonotary Warblers breed throughout the eastern US in woodlands near streams or surrounded by water. They nest in tree cavities, unlike any other eastern Warbler. Their loud, ringing song, a series of "SWEET SWEET SWEET" notes, is a common sound in wet woodlands and makes them easy to identify.
